Video: Alex Nicol “Working on My Tan”

Alex Nicol sings a sleepy ode to ‘Working on My Tan’.   In this new video a presumably retired gentleman is enjoying a life of leisure, or at least trying to.  Endless rounds of golf, tennis and a dip in the lake take up his days.  This reflects the lyrical tale of finding peace by connecting with nature.  The video, directed by Jérémie Boivin, is the first single from Nicol’s newest release ‘Been A Long Year Vol.1 & Vol.2’. Nicol offers insight into the lyrics of the song, the protagonist runs through a list of ways he’s trying to be present and live in the moment, but he’s clearly struggling to find a sense of lasting calm in an overwhelming world. Ultimately, the song finds its antidote for stress overload by connecting with the natural world, but also examines how difficult unplugging from the grind can be.” Volumes One and Two of ‘Been A Long Year’ will be available on all platforms from 1st December 2023.
