Here is the fourth single from Declan O’Rourke’s highly-anticipated new album. ‘The Stars Over Kinvara’ is a typically delicate and melodic ballad from the Irish singer. His voice resonates throughout this beautiful, intimate song, rising and falling over intricate finger-picking and warm strings. The accompanying video allows us a glimpse of fabulous musicianship in the studio. O’Rourke describes the theme of ‘The Stars of Kinvara’: “Possibly the sweetest moment ever in your life is the one in which you can stand back and look at the beautiful chain of human beings before, and in front of you… to sense your place among them, and to feel the magic and the un-aloneness of the whole thing.” Lyrically involving and showcasing O’Rourke’s masterful guitar-playing, this is a song to get lost in. Repeatedly.
The release date for ‘Arrivals’ has been revised and the album is now expected on 5th March. The Paul Weller-produced record is stripped back, letting the focus fall on O’Rourke’s strong, soulful vocals. All the songs revealed so far indicate that this will be emotional, absorbing and a record to accompany you throughout 2021. Enjoy.
