Here is the delicate and introspective new single from Donovan Woods. ‘How Good’, a co-write with Steve Robson, showcases Woods’ thoughtful, sensitive songwriting and his characterful vocal delivery. The song was originally intended as a lullaby for Woods’ wife during a difficult period. Woods explains ‘How Good’ was: “…essentially written for my wife and I, in a year when we sorely needed it. It describes a way of looking at the world that’s probably a little naive. My work puts added stress on us and I’m not the easiest person to be around to begin with, but everything can change in an instant, we all know this.” Woods is reflecting on change , which could be good or bad: “We most often think about it in terms of bad news. What if things get good? Can we even handle that?”
As well as creating his own material, the JUNO Award-winner is known for his writing for, and collaborations with, other musicians, such as Tim McGraw, Lori McKenna, Brandy Clark, Ashley Monroe and Lady A’s Charles Kelley. Look out for Woods’ tour this year, which he’ll be co-headlining with Australian Drew Holcomb – details and tickets can be found here here.
