Video: Elles Bailey & Lady Nade “Silent Night”

It’s beginning to feel a little bit like Christmas.  To help with the festive spirit, here’s a beautiful rendition of traditional Christmas carol ‘Silent Night’ by Elles Bailey and Lady Nade.  The charity Christmas single has been released to raise funds for Shelter.  Maximo Newton (Head of Community Fundraising for Shelter) says: “It’s been a year of unbelievable difficulty for many people. The impact of the pandemic means that many are facing homelessness for the first time; some will be forced to sleep on the streets this winter. Shelter is working hard to help those who are worst affected — but as growing numbers of people need our support, we ourselves need the support of the public.

That’s why Elles Bailey and Lady Nade supporting us means so much to Shelter. The money raised will help us to give hope and support to those who need us after a turbulent year.  Thank-you to Elles Bailey and Lady Nade: you are making a real difference to the individuals and families facing homelessness this Christmas.”  Indeed.  And you can support Shelter by donating here.

Elles Bailey and Lady Nade, both from Bristol, have received acclaim for their work.  Bailey won UK Song of the Year at the UK Americana Awards ceremony earlier this year and Lady Nade is nominated for the same award for January 2021.  Their contrasting voices work beautifully together on this festive release.

Bailey says of the collaboration between musical friends: “I love how our completely different voices weave together to create such lovely textures; plus, we are joined by the tremendous Joe Wilkins on guitar — it really is a stunning mix, even though I say so myself! All in aid of Shelter.  What I also love about this particular collaboration is that we have come together for an incredible cause at this much-needed time. It’s heart-breaking to see the amount of homelessness we have just here in Bristol, let alone across the country. The money raised for Shelter can give a lifeline to those people, especially at Christmas and through the cold Winter months.”  Beautiful carol.  Beautiful singing.  Great cause.  Enjoy.
