Parker Millsap examines the rhythms of life in ‘Running on Time’. The video features clips of natural landscapes interspersed with character studies of several people in filmed portraiture. Fingerpicked guitars and subdued drums drive the song forward. In the lyrics, Millsap ponders the perpetual movement of the universe and the eventuality of the cycles of life repeating.
“It’s hard to say what any song is ‘about’” says Millsap, “but ‘Running On Time’ is as close as I’ve yet come to writing a song about EVERYTHING. The daily rising and falling of the sun. The monthly cycles of the moon. The shifting of the seasons. The expansion and contraction of the universe. I tried to fit as much of it in there as I could, and also express my gratitude for being able to witness and comprehend some of these processes. It’s a reminder that there is wonder to experience.”
‘Running on Time’ is from the upcoming album ‘Wilderness Within You’ that will be released 12th May via Okrahoma Records.
Millsap who recently wrapped a series of dates supporting Patty Griffin will celebrate ‘Wilderness Within You’ with a wide-ranging live schedule, including shows at Los Angeles, CA’s The Troubadour, Nashville, TN’s Basement East, and Tulsa, OK’s Cain’s Ballroom.
