Video: Passenger “Feather On The Clyde” (Feat. Nina Nesbitt – Anniversary Edition)

The video for the anniversary edition of ‘Feather on the Clyde’ by Passenger is a gorgeous piece of film-making.  Directed by the talented Nic Minns, there’s a cinematic feel and real artistry in the compelling visual storytelling.  The monochrome and the locations around Glasgow add atmosphere to a song that is already compelling and beautiful.

As ever, Mike Rosenberg’s voice is warm and intimate, pulling the listener into one of his personal favourite songs as if he is talking to you directly.  Then, when Nina Nesbitt adds her ethereal vocal, which blends perfectly with Rosenberg’s tones, the song is elevated and truly absorbing.

It is ten years since the release of Passenger’s multi-platinum album ‘All the Little Lights’ and, to celebrate the anniversary, all the songs are being reworked with the help of a series of gifted collaborators, including Gabrielle Aplin, Foy Vance and Ed Sheeran.  The original album transformed Rosenberg’s life, turning a touring busker into an internationally known artist.  The single ‘Let Her Go’ was a hit around the world and has now been reached 2 billion streams, as well as another 3.5 billion views on YouTube.  It’s an astonishing measure of success.

Passenger, a brilliant live performer, will be headlining Kew the Music in July 2024 – get your tickets here.  In the meantime, absorb the brilliant series of videos Passenger has recently released, giving new life to these classic songs from an all-time great album.
