Video Premiere: Dana Immanuel & the Stolen Band “Mama’s Codeine”

There’s fabulous musicianship on show in the video for ‘Mama’s Codeine’, the new song from banjo-playing Dana Immanuel, accompanied by her all-female group, The Stolen Band.  This is the title track from their newly-released EP.  It’s fast-paced, irreverent fun.  Immanuel says of the song: “Mama’s Codeine is a bit personal, but rest assured it’s not actually about
either my mother or codeine. I feel as though the chorus remains pretty relatable though, even without a back story.”  The band have impressed audiences at Red Rooster, Black Deer and Glastonbury, and this is well worth a spin.
