We are pleased to premiere the new single, ‘Tennessee’, from GF Patrick. If you like your Americana to be timeless roots music, beautifully crafted and sung, then this is one to watch. It’s taken from Patrick’s debut album, ‘One Town Over’. The new record will be released in Europe at the end of this week on 17th July and ‘Tennessee’ is a taste of what’s to come.
The Philadelphia-based singer-songwriter and guitarist was a member of bluegrass-inspired folk band Black horse Motel, where he developed his writing style: putting the stories of the lost and hopeless, the forgotten and overlooked, to music. As he moves into solo alt-country, Patrick has continued to write such narratives. The new album is described as: “…the sequel to a coming of age story. Tales of young people trying to figure out who they’re going to be are replaced by adults trying to come to terms with the results of those decisions…we still easily imagine that at last, we have touched something that no-one else has experienced. We pretend ourselves alone in the hopes that we won’t be asked to share the burdens of another, or perhaps more terrifying, allow our burden to be shared.” These well-crafted tales are well-worth checking out. Enjoy.
