Here is the exclusive video premiere of the new single from Ultan Conlon. The video for ‘Sparks of the Divine’ follows a character finding unlikely love and there’s a twist at the end. It’s the first single from Conlon’s forthcoming album, ‘There’s a Waltz’, which is due for release on 17th April in Ireland and the UK and 22nd May throughout the rest of Europe and the USA. The new album was produced by Grammy-winner, Sean Watkins (Nickel Creek).
Conlon says of working with Watkins: “When I met the musicians that Sean brought on board to record my songs and we played the first few bars, I knew this record was gonna make itself, under the influence of Sean navigating us all ever so gently.” Indeed, there is an impressive list of musicians lending their skills to the record, who have worked with the likes of Bob Dylan, KD Lang, Lucinda Williams, Paul Simon and Jackson Browne. Backing vocals are provided by Sara Watkins (I’m With Her) and Conlon’s clear, melodic vocal brings Roy Orbison to mind. This song is a good taster for the fourth album from the critically-acclaimed Irish singer-songwriter. Enjoy.
