Written after the birth of his first-born child, Sam Calver’s recent video has a simple message about the love between father and son and the importance of the people around us. Calver explains: “‘River’ is a classic love song but written from a place I have never found myself in before…Fatherhood. It poured out of me like it had already been written in my head. I hope listeners can find their loved ones in this song too and relate to it. This was the first song for me that changed my approach to song-writing, coming from an honest and heartfelt place.
