Lovely harmonies and the powerful vocals of Shannon LaBrie are the highlight of this rhythmic new single, which was co-written with Tia Sillers and Joe Robinson. All three had recently been through defining moments in their lives or careers before coming together to write ‘Firewalker’. LaBrie says of the day she met her fellow writers: “I was in the fire, so to speak. We were in the thick of it, but we weren’t broken yet. Now I realize we were being born into unbreakable Firewalkers.” Inspiration from adversity.
The video was created during lockdown with talented, respected director Robert Pistole, who has worked with the likes of Miranda Lambert and Little Big Town. LaBrie says of the project, which was shot in the backwoods of Tennessee: “Roger Pistole, is one of the most inventive, endearing and calming directors I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with. He’s got a way of easiness about him when he’s behind a camera. I felt very comfortable being myself…in fact, that’s his one request.” It’s certainly an effective video that shows what can be produced while in quarantine. Look out for an announcement about a forthcoming full-length album soon.
