Willie Nelson talks to Rolling Stone and suggests Jeff Sessions “smokes some pot”

No stranger to the weed himself, Willie Nelson in a lengthy interview with Rolling Stone magazine was asked his opinion on US Attorney General Jeff Sessions’ assertion that “pot is “only slightly less awful” than heroin.”  Willie’s response? “I wonder if he’s tried both of them. I don’t think you can really make a statement like that unless you tried it all. So I’d like to suggest to Jeff to try it and then let me know later if he thinks he’s still telling the truth!”

Nelson was speaking to the magazine on the eve of his 84th birthday as his latest album, God’s Problem Child, flies up the country charts. Read the full interview here for further thoughts on pot, working with Dylan and the inspiration for his song Still Not Dead.
