ANOTHER FLAMING LIPS MOVIE ON THE WAY

news image
Have a good weekend people. And never buy Palm products. They suck. Undercover reports: "Following the huge success of ‘Christmas On Mars’, Flaming Lips front man Wayne Coyne is perching himself in the director’s chair once again. This time around it will be a touch more modest than the gigantic sets Coyne built himself for his first flick. “My only goal was that I didn't have to build space station-looking sets every time I wanted to have someone say something," Coyne told Billboard.com, “only because I built those sets myself every time we shot something for 'Christmas on Mars' over the seven years we took to make it. This one is set in someone's house and in a back yard and in a slaughterhouse; all those are available to me right here, so I don't have to build everything this time.” Nobody has mentioned anything about a storyline, but the cast will consist of the band and their friends and family, although Coyne said he was “in the process of begging Justin Timberlake to do it.” It will be shot in and around their hometown of Oklahoma. In the meantime, The Lips have a few gigs coming up, including a stop at SXSW Film in Austin TX this Friday (March 12) and a spot at the Bonnaroo Festival in Tennessee (June 11) where they will do a once-off run through of their recent full-album cover of ‘Dark Side Of The Moon’."
