We’ve been having that conversation again. You know, the one that goes like –
“You do know, don’t you man, that Americana doesn’t have to be like totally gloomy and depressing?”
“Sure, sure, only 90% of Americana is gloomy and depressing – everyone knows that.”
“So can we have a happy track?”
“Yeah, no problem.”
And, indeed, it is no problem – not when you have the new release from Tom Jenkins to hand. The Welsh singer returned to his homelands in 2017 after giving up music to travel to New Zealand to pursue his passion for sheep-shearing, shepherding and ranching. But back in the valleys and it’s music again, with this latest song being he says “the most upbeat song off my new album. I really wanted to write more uplifting music this time round. The sound is inspired mainly by American alt/indie bands like Band of Horses and The Shins. Lyrically the song focuses on unity in a world that always seems to be trying to divide us by the ways of the media or manipulating higher powers.”
So, Jonathan, where exactly are those dates and details??? By the way ….Fab track!
Ah, well done Alan – you’re the winner of the “spot the deliberate typo” competition. No prize just the kudos. This was a rare example of the “failed cut and paste” typo, and it should now have disappeared…..the two dates mentioned are the only dates!
