Rarely have we seen a press image that more loudly screams out “caption competition.” This is The Fighting Side, a band from St. Louis who bring in disparate musical backgrounds with members whose backgrounds are members with roots in punk rock, bluegrass, doom metal, indie rock, and traditional country. The aim is to make a melting pot that’ll give a new take on alt-country. They’ve got two new singles out, of which the slow burner of ‘Can’t Help Myself’ is the one we’re featuring today.
The Fighting Side is David Newman on telecaster lead guitar, Ben Gastman’s on bass, Brad Jackson takes the vocals with a deep baritone growl, with Timmy Kendrick on drums and adding more guitar is Seth Barnhart’s role.
The band dedicate ‘Can’t Help Myself” to those who find themselves unable to resist certain temptations, as they delve into the
complexities of love and loss that leads us to make the mistakes we know we should avoid.
Amazing track, I’ve heard it live many times, this cut is fire!
