Dallas Good and Richard Reed Parry “Alone Alone” – it’s a growing thing

You’ll recall that we let you know about Yep Roc releasing the last music Dallas Good worked on, an album called Were The Watchtowers, a collaboration with his long-term friend Richard Reed. The album will be out on April 18th, Record Store Day. Alone Alone is a song of creation, as nature expands itself, unassisted by man in ways that are eternal – Richard Reed Parry describes it “Alone Alone was written from an animistic perspective of the earth – every living organism and every force of nature in the song has their own soul, their own sense of self, enjoys their own awareness and, in this song, each of these elements is enjoying a moment of solitude. Plants enjoying making oxygen. Wind savouring itself gusting through open windows. Vines climbing the cliffs and reaching towards the sun. Each living force, alone, enjoying the feeling of being alone.” There’s a forceful blending of insistent acoustic guitars and building instrumentation as sun, wind and rain drive an unchecked life force onwards.

Sure, I could climb high in a tree, or go to Skye on my holiday. I could be happy. All I really want is the excitement of first hearing The Byrds, the amazement of decades of Dylan's music, or the thrill of seeing a band like The Long Ryders live. That's not much to ask, is it?
