Join Carson McHone on her musical merry-go-round

Native of Austin, Texas, Carson McHone, kicks off her first ever UK tour at the end of this month. She opens with a showcase at AmericanaFest UK in London on 29th of January, where she’ll also be playing a free in-store show at Rough Trade East on the 31st.

The burgeoning talent of the Texan singer-songwriter had Rolling Stone magazine declare in 2017 that she was one of “10 Country Artists You Need to Know.” Her second full-length release, ‘Carousel,’ was recorded in Nashville with renowned producer, Mike McCarthy, who’s previously recorded with the likes of Patty Griffin, Spoon and Heartless Bastards. Somewhat dark in its subject matter, ‘Carousel’ still manages to turn the spotlight on McHone’s honky-tonk roots, while also demonstrating her development as a modern storyteller of country music.

Playing to audiences in Austin bars such as The Hole In The Wall and the White Horse long before she was of legal drinking age, McHone said: “I was a kid when I landed those residencies. I wasn’t even old enough to be in those bars and they became a home to me. It’s a dark thing when a bar becomes your home.” McHone has since found another home in the form of Loose Records, who were clearly impressed enough to sign her to their growing stable of acts following AmericanaFest in Nashville last September.

Carson McHone’s new album, ‘Carousel,’ is out on the 25th of January and her tour dates are as follows:

29 JAN – AmericanaFest UK, Oslo, London
