This is a perfect song for those late-night summer parties. Taken from the album ‘Whistle in the Dawn’, this is the latest single from The Orange Circus Band. After so long without regular touring, the band have come right out with a foot-stomping, handclapping song to dance along too, focused on the insistent, urgent fiddle-playing. Having played at various festivals, including Glastonbury, The Orange Circus Band are all about the involving vibe of live performances. Like their previous songs, this uptempo number would go down well in that sort of environment.
The Kent-based collective have attracted attention from the likes of Bob Harris and it’s easy to see why. Their music is timeless, heartfelt, uplifting and masterfully executed.
Richard Morel’s video captures the tone and atmosphere of the song with great precision. As the light fades and the flames rise, the revellers arrive with sparklers and then dance the night away. The feeling we’re left with is one of joy. We can imagine the good times that were had when the video was shot and, next time you light a campfire, this song can soundtrack your late-night dance moves too. ‘Sit Down by the Fire’ was made for long summer evenings. Enjoy.
Brilliant!
