Kentucky native Jr Williams began playing guitar and singing at the age of six, later mastering the banjo. And he has been playing in Bluegrass bands for 36 years contributing his banjo style and vocals to groups like NewFound Road and NewTown, whom he helped form.
So it should be no surprise that ‘Railroad Town Without a Train‘ has a certain Bluegrass feel to it as it deals with a changing world that can see a town that “they built around the railroad yard, the switches and the signs” suddenly find that the trains aren’t running anymore.
