Amanda Cook “Ready For A Bluer Sky” – Summer come-along

Ready for a Bluer  Sky‘ is a light-sounding tale of coming to a decision – and it’s the old, old question “Should I stay or go? Am I all alone on a dead-end road.”  Yes, it is, in the words of Bucks Fizz, time for “making your mind up“.  Romance ?  No Romance?  Stay here – or head off where the emotional sun shines a little brighter?

Amanda Cook tells that “I received this track from Becky Buller in a great demo and knew immediately that this would be such a wonderful addition to the album ‘Changes’.  We have all been through so many changes and ups and downs for the past couple of years; we’ve all been looking for Bluer Skies. This song could be an anthem really for the days we need a little bit of sunshine. I love the arrangement we worked up as a band, and it’s a special song to perform live!”

On ‘Ready for a Bluer  Sky‘  you’ll hear Amanda Cook – lead vocal, Carolyne Van Lierop – banjo, harmony vocal, Troy Boone – mandolin, Josh Faul – bass, harmony vocal, George Mason – fiddle, Brady Wallen – guitar.  And yes that is kinda a bluegrass line-up – but it’s a little old-school country too.

Sure, I could climb high in a tree, or go to Skye on my holiday. I could be happy. All I really want is the excitement of first hearing The Byrds, the amazement of decades of Dylan's music, or the thrill of seeing a band like The Long Ryders live. That's not much to ask, is it?
