Austin Lucas “The Times” – Listen

The album will be out on October 30th, it’s called ‘Alive In The Hot Zone!‘ and it’s a sort of lockdown record – with the added twist that Austin Lucas has hunkered down in Mainz, away from his family and with the time to record a new album.  From which today’s song is taken.

The Times‘  is personally reflective and also looks back on an earlier socially unevolved time – a time when children could be ignored, and woman weren’t expected to exhibit equality.  And although it is framed within the personal it’s not nostalgia, there’s a warning in here as well – what has changed can change back.

Sure, I could climb high in a tree, or go to Skye on my holiday. I could be happy. All I really want is the excitement of first hearing The Byrds, the amazement of decades of Dylan's music, or the thrill of seeing a band like The Long Ryders live. That's not much to ask, is it?
