It’s day two of our Black Deer week and if ever there was a band made for the British festival summer, it’s The Orange Circus Band. As if to reinforce those festival credentials, the video for ‘Flame in Your Heart’ features images and slow-motion footage from live shows, capturing the band’s dynamism and spirit. This brand new single is the first new material from the band since the well-received 2020 album ‘Whistle in the Dawn’. There’s everything here in this song: harmonies and gorgeous melody, high energy fiddle and rhythms to dance along to.
Vocalist Flash Hearth says of the song: “One the greatest lyrics in a song, ‘I don’t want to set the world on fire, just start a flame in your heart.’ I first heard these words as a kid listening to the Ink Spots. It says so much and means many different things to me, It was the starting point for writing this song. We recorded at Mwnci Studios in west Wales.”
Though based in the UK, The Orange Circus Band is rooted in Virginia, USA, and they manage to find a bridge between all things country, bluegrass and folk, across the Atlantic and across time, joining the traditional and the new. Look out for the band on The SupaJam Stage on Saturday 18th June at Black Deer Festival. It’s almost here, folks. While you wait, check this out.
