Dr John “Sleeping Dogs Best Left Alone” – Great sounds from great man’s last album

Another song from the late and much lamented Dr John (one of the few of whom it can be truly said “there’ll never be another one like him”), taken from the last studio album he completed ‘Things Happen That Way’ which is set for release on September 23rd, 2022.  It’s an album that’s been described as the Dr’s country inspired album.  Well, maybe, but today’s song is as funky as it is country.  Enjoy, it’s a good one.

Sure, I could climb high in a tree, or go to Skye on my holiday. I could be happy. All I really want is the excitement of first hearing The Byrds, the amazement of decades of Dylan's music, or the thrill of seeing a band like The Long Ryders live. That's not much to ask, is it?
