She started a joke… in 2015 Shab Ferdowsi thought it’d be funny to knock some songs together so that she could busk in Ireland. Galway didn’t turn out to be the financial promised land, but things went well enough to go as far as pulling a band together when she returned to LA.
Roll forward five years and that band, Blushh, are ready to release their debut album this month. The sound is guitar based indie/garage/college rock with some nice turns of mid-twenties anxiety captured on today’s song from the petulant arrogance of “I don’t need people judging me / I don’t need people looking at me” to the existential angst of “Twenty-six when’s my life going to head where I want it…what am I doing with my life?”
