Bob Dylan announces new Bootleg Series release

Bob Dylan’s quicksilver nature was captured in that memorable phrase ‘wild mercury sound’, and he’s continued to show his prowess as an alchemist mixing up the medicine and creating mighty potent potions.  What does this have to do with the Bootleg series though.  Well, there is a hint in the picture.

Yes, this particular Bootleg series is not musical but comes from Dylan’s Heaven’s Door distillery.  It’s a special whisky.  A VERY special whisky, 26 years aged in Japanese Mizunara Oak barrels.  Volume 1 of the Bootleg Series Whiskies comes in a limited edition box in a special Dylan painting adorned bottle.

In fact it’s the very definition of a whisky that is not bootleg whisky.  But let’s not worry about that.  Let’s just sit back and look forward to sipping on what will surely be our Festive Period gift this year.  It’s a bargain, at $499 a bottle.

Sure, I could climb high in a tree, or go to Skye on my holiday. I could be happy. All I really want is the excitement of first hearing The Byrds, the amazement of decades of Dylan's music, or the thrill of seeing a band like The Long Ryders live. That's not much to ask, is it?
