It’s been a while since we’ve heard from Chicago based singer-songwriter Brad Peterson: not that he hasn’t been busy. Many trips to the lumber yard and many hours of labour have provided him with a musical box in which to work – which is to say he now has a shed stuffed with instruments. And the fruits of his labours (can sheds have fruits?) are now becoming apparent – the space and the instruments have led to inspiration, or as Brad says “On the walls and in cases are dozens of instruments of all sorts: strings, woodwinds, brass, keys, percussion…I get an idea before my first sip of coffee, and by the time I go to bed, there’s a brand new song.”

Sure, I could climb high in a tree, or go to Skye on my holiday. I could be happy. All I really want is the excitement of first hearing The Byrds, the amazement of decades of Dylan's music, or the thrill of seeing a band like The Long Ryders live. That's not much to ask, is it?
