‘In Painter’s Light‘ is the latest single from Declan O’Rourke and comes from his upcoming album ‘Arrivals‘ which was produced by Paul Weller. It’ll hit the streets on February 5 2021 and is released via eastwest records. And if you’re thinking that ‘In Painters’ Light’ will rock somewhat, well you’re barking up the wrong tree.
Because this is the gentlest acoustic folk you could imagine. It’s a meditation on what makes one an artist, as Declan explained to us “I wrote this as an affirmation to myself, to not lose sight of a long held artistic ambition. In the process it also became an exploration into what motivated me to follow the path of the Artist in life. But it took a few other twists and turns I wasn’t expecting too. It was great to work with Toby Mortimer, who created a beautiful animated film to accompany the song, encompassing some elements common to both of our journeys”
