Dream Team Triple Header – Suzanne Vega, Billy Bragg, Seasick Steve

Oh, Songkick, you’re really treating us this time with your semi-random email header denoting a wondrous triple header of a gig that isn’t actually going to happen.  But what if it did?  How would the Queen of Cool, the rouser of the masses and consoler of the broken hearted and the raucous spinner of tale tales work together as a single gig?  Well, probably quite well as that sounds like a very credible line-up for the main stage at the Cambridge Folk Festival.  So – not such a stretch in the festival setting, but in a reasonably sized venue could that work?  Yeah, sure it could.  Running order though – it’s tempting to put the noise on last but I’m going with Billy Bragg, then an acoustic set from Seasick Steve and finally the elegant folk-rock of Suzanne Vega.  The encore when they all come back on stage together is going to be a blast though.  What a dream….

Sure, I could climb high in a tree, or go to Skye on my holiday. I could be happy. All I really want is the excitement of first hearing The Byrds, the amazement of decades of Dylan's music, or the thrill of seeing a band like The Long Ryders live. That's not much to ask, is it?
