Eliza Gilkyson “River Of Gold” – live from Texas Music Cafe

Something slightly different today for Tracks – this lovely live cut by Eliza Gilkyson comes from a performance at the Texas Music Cafe.  Turns out they have a great amount of material recorded over the last 25 years.  And they have a plan – to take thousands of hours of back catalogue and release remastered audio for the first time. There should be whole albums next year and this year they’re getting going with a single every week and an occasional full set. The first round of releases included Don Walser, Omar and the Howlers, Slaid Cleves and Jimmy LaFave, among others. And Eliza Gilkyson, of course.

Sure, I could climb high in a tree, or go to Skye on my holiday. I could be happy. All I really want is the excitement of first hearing The Byrds, the amazement of decades of Dylan's music, or the thrill of seeing a band like The Long Ryders live. That's not much to ask, is it?
