So, the last time we were talking about Foxwarren we’d remarked that ten years is a long time for an album to gestate, but that’s what passed between Andy Shauf, the fraternal rhythm section of Avery and Darryl Kissick, and guitarist Dallas Bryson getting it together at the Kissick homestead and the actual release of their debut album. Of course Andy Shauf had some other solo stuff going on in that decade, but, evern so. Well, that was way back in the pre-pandemic era of 2018 and the next album from Foxwarren will be arriving this year with the band having picked up multi-instrumentalist Colin Nealis – also a member of Shauf’s touring band – who officially joined Foxwarren after their summer touring in 2019.
And what music do Foxwarren make? Probably best described as off-kilter indie-folk rock, one of our favourite sub-genres.
