Elvis Costello & The Imposters “Farewell, OK” – I guess this is our last goodbye….

Well, after a few years of tinkering with Jazz and reimagining of back catalogue in Spanish it’s a pleasure to say that the next Elvis Costello album ‘The Boy Named If‘ which is out tomorrow shows Mr Costello getting back to what he does best.  Apologies to those who cleave to the credo that “EC is God“, but for the rest of us what we want is full-on rocking with snarky lyrics and an aggressive snarl in the vocal delivery.  And that’s exactly what’s delivered on this latest single from the album.  So, that’s all ok, we’re all happy now.

Hit it Elvis….

Sure, I could climb high in a tree, or go to Skye on my holiday. I could be happy. All I really want is the excitement of first hearing The Byrds, the amazement of decades of Dylan's music, or the thrill of seeing a band like The Long Ryders live. That's not much to ask, is it?
