Helena Hellberg takes on catcallers on ‘Epiphet’.  The Swedish/Swiss singer who now calls Nashville home is releasing her debut album on 29th March.  Following ‘Surprisingly Disco’ and ‘From the Outside’, ‘Epiphet’ is the third single and title track of the record.  The lyrics tell the story of the regular struggle women face with unwanted and crude encounters with strangers.

Hallberg explains the inspiration for the song: “Being subjected to catcalling is a part of everyday life for many people… ‘Epithet’ was written as an anthem of resilience, but also as a call to awareness. It’s meant to reverse the power balance created when you’re catcalled – an anthem to take your power back, a banger that makes you think and rejoice in the face of the epithets that haunt you.”
