All the tracks are good, that’s an article of faith, but today we have Israel Nash – the title song from his new album out 20th October. ‘Ozarker‘ tells the story of Nash’s great-grandfather, a migrant worker who fell in love with an orchard owner’s daughter and kept his promise to return in a year to marry her. It features Israel Nash’s blend of Cosmic Rock, with a twist of Southern Rock in the blend.
The new album was inspired by a desire to know more about his own roots – his mother provided him with notebooks full of inspirations and stories and this led to an album of stories some based on this family history some based on contributions and observations from others but all, Nash says, are a reflection of a shared background: “I was born and raised in small-town Missouri. All the people and the stories and the music that shaped me come from that part of the country, and I could feel it calling back to me on this album.”
