Julia Logan “Mirrors” – lost in reflection

Photo: Olof Grind

Julia Logan is a Swedish singer-songwriter who splits her time between Stockholm and Southern California the former is the big city near to the small island she grew up on and the latter is where her mother is from. Julia Logan spent some of her teenage years in southern California, where her mother is from, she learned the guitar from a local hippie and started writing songs.

‘Mirrors‘ is taken from her second album ‘Faraway Nearby‘ which explores themes of personal fears and changes, isolation, loss, getting older, hope, and finding your place in the world.  Since Julia Logan cites as influences the likes of  Fleetwood Mac and Midlake these heavy topics are delivered with a light touch.

Sure, I could climb high in a tree, or go to Skye on my holiday. I could be happy. All I really want is the excitement of first hearing The Byrds, the amazement of decades of Dylan's music, or the thrill of seeing a band like The Long Ryders live. That's not much to ask, is it?
