Just Because…

Where to start?  What’s the most bizarre part of yesterday’s speech?  The suggestion that what we need after 13 years of the current party is a wind of change – and change of that kind can only be realised by continuing with the same party whose own leader candidly admitted that they had achieved nothing in 13 years.  Umm.  Convincing.

Or the fantastic offer to scrap the high speed train to the North that had been planned for 15 years in order to better plan for the long term by instead offering up new exciting rail plans that have yet to be designed, and also won’t be funded until safely after the next election.  Would that be Jam Tomorrow then?

Still, at least the non-existent meat tax is definitely not going to happen.  Turns out it is really easy to cancel things that were never going to happen…

Sure, I could climb high in a tree, or go to Skye on my holiday. I could be happy. All I really want is the excitement of first hearing The Byrds, the amazement of decades of Dylan's music, or the thrill of seeing a band like The Long Ryders live. That's not much to ask, is it?
