Mary-Charlotte Young “Honky-Tonk Eyes”

We’ve being virtually snowed under with requests for more Honky-Tonking in the Tracks section: well, your wish is our command (well, mostly, and only if we actually want to do it otherwise it’s a straight “no way“).  Texan Americana troubadour Mary-Charlotte Young brings some attitude to bear on the form, with a no-nonsense taken vocal delivery, cutting through the sweetness of the pedal steel to bring to life a barroom of the dive class and a meeting of souls that has every chance of turning out not well.

Honky-Tonk Eyes‘ is the title song of Young’s upcoming album (due 29th July), the follow up to her 2020 release ‘LA Again.’

Sure, I could climb high in a tree, or go to Skye on my holiday. I could be happy. All I really want is the excitement of first hearing The Byrds, the amazement of decades of Dylan's music, or the thrill of seeing a band like The Long Ryders live. That's not much to ask, is it?
