The UK’s original Americana festival (that’s if you don’t count our epic Americana One – honestly if you’d seen the erratic state of the organisation of the day we were lucky to get 3 stars) has announced the first names for its thirteenth (lucky for some..) outing. The line-up includes Meridian, Mississippi singer-songwriter and Grammy-winner Steve Forbert who is currently celebrating the 40th anniversary and re-release of his seminal album ‘Jack Rabbit Slim’; past Grammy-nominees for best American roots performers The California Feetwarmers; and past festival crowd-pleaser Terra Lightfoot, who returns with her killer band.
The festival also welcome JD Wilkes And The Legendary Shackshakers from Kentucky, with their hell-for-leather brand of Southern gothic rockabilly, from Chicago, power-house band of bluegrass boys The Henhouse Prowlers (great name for a band!) and from Texas, taking the audience for a fresh ride down the Lone Star highway, Vandoleirs.
This year‘s event will take place from Friday 3rd – Sunday 5th July showcasing the cream of the crop from both sides of the Atlantic and beyond. The barns and outbuildings of Easton Farm Park will once again be transformed into a boutique festival environment offering six stages indoors and out. Full details and tickets which start from £90 for the weekend are available via their website here.
