Oh Sees premiere new jam with Mojo magazine.

That’s not like a new flavour of your favourite toast topping.  If it was it’d be ‘blueberry and apricot with a twist of lime’ jam.  Mmmm.  No, what Mojo magazine have (and the link is here) is a new five minute burst of intense music from Oh Sees – who used to be The Oh Sees, and before that were Thee Oh Sees.  With age comes a bit of name trimming and also a move away from straight ahead garage rock to what John Dwyer describes as music that is ” far more progressive-sounding“.   Umm…well, maybe not so very proggy, sounds like a late sixties jam to us, bit bluesy in the keyboards, bit driven in the tempo.   But listen-up and decide for yourselves.  It’s the new Oh Sees, and their European tour hits the UK in a couple of weeks time and again at the end of August and into September.

Sure, I could climb high in a tree, or go to Skye on my holiday. I could be happy. All I really want is the excitement of first hearing The Byrds, the amazement of decades of Dylan's music, or the thrill of seeing a band like The Long Ryders live. That's not much to ask, is it?
