We find Old Sap looking to the future: if “January is a Monday morning, sick and hungover from the year’s weekending,” then February isn’t shaping up to be too much better. The americana tinged with folk of Old Sap takes a long look at the world and doesn’t like what it sees – this song is actually one of just two songs that Old Sap wrote during the Covid lockdowns but it’s sombre outlook sees just as timely now as he sings of “Often tired, skin too thin / missing everywhere I been before, unsure” the tension and anxiety come through. Speaking of the song, Old Sap says: “You look back, and you wonder, where did all those good times go? I’m in a completely different place, I miss all the comforts I used to have, the people I used to spend time with, the version of myself I once was, I can’t go back, and I’m not sure where I’m headed now.”
‘February Blues‘ is taken from the upcoming album “Marble Home“, which will be released on the 26th of February.
