Preview: Words and Music Festival – Nantwich South Cheshire, October 11th – 17th

As live music slowly finds its feet again it seems a good idea to give as many shout-outs as possible for upcoming events. On that basis we bring to your attention the ‘Words and Music Festival’, held in Nantwich South Cheshire, overseen by Nigel Stonier and Thea Gilmore, with help from a good number of dedicated volunteers.

This year’s event takes place between the 11th and 17th of October and features its usual eclectic range of artists – bear in mind that it is about words and music. Musical headliners this year are Eddi Reader and Martin Carthy. Verbal headliners are Bob Harris and Danny Baker appearing together to reflect on their times in the music business. John Cooper Clarke will also be in attendance and may well be able to answer the question he posed on a previous visit – ‘Why is there only one Monopolies Commission?’

The venues are sensibly sized, intimate and spread around the town as previously described here. Here’s the link to the website with all the information about artists, dates and venues.
