Well that’s it from us for another week dear reader and we leave you with an artist we’ve covered occasionally here on AUK in the past following her nomination for an Americana Music Award in the Emerging Act of the Year category back in 2021. Oladokun grew up in Casa Grande, Arizona, listening to country and folk music, as well as Bob Marley and Lauryn Hill. When Oladokun was 10, a video of Tracy Chapman inspired her to learn guitar, she released her first album ‘Carry’ in 2016 and the rest as they say is history. ‘Taking Things for Granted’ is taken from her latest album ‘Proof of Life’ which was released in April of this year.
