The Annie Keating Band “On The Road By Ten” – sharp

There is absolutely no doubt that there are elements of autobiography in this new song from the upcoming live album from The Annie Keating Band.  What makes us so sure?  Well: “A man named Jake bought me a drink / He said “Ms. Annie you look tired but I like the way you sing” / Burning this candle at both ends / Out until dawn and on the road by ten” is a pretty big hint.  ‘On The Road By Ten‘ is a classic celebration of the rock and roll touring lifestyle, with the added bonus that these are tales related in the live arena, it has a fire under it and simply begs for a repeat listen…or two.

This song is taken from the album ‘Live‘ which is being released on July 30th – there’s a UK connection here as well, since the song was recorded at Little Rabbit Barn, near Ardleigh on one of the band’s UK tours.  And talking of tours, The Annie Keating Band have UK dates coming up in July, a mix of rooms and festivals – you can find the dates here.  These include the album launch party on July 30th, which will be hosted by Bob Harris.

Sure, I could climb high in a tree, or go to Skye on my holiday. I could be happy. All I really want is the excitement of first hearing The Byrds, the amazement of decades of Dylan's music, or the thrill of seeing a band like The Long Ryders live. That's not much to ask, is it?
