The Grahams “Beyond The Palisades” – lush and soothing waves of acceptances

Sha La La‘ is the new EP from The Grahams and it’s a blissfully upbeat and sun drenched release, a deliberate attempt to erase the lingering memory of the last fourteen months.  The Nashville based, but New Jersey bred, duo of Alyssa and Doug Graham decided to not take a path of writhing in self pity and judgement, and instead decided they’d simply let go of trying to control or overcome the situation, liberating themselves of their anger and who they thought they were, while embracing who they may become.  They also rifled through their record collections for lush inspiration from sweetened soul and seventies vibes.  The result – well, it’s an unqualified success.   The EP is out October 15th.

Sure, I could climb high in a tree, or go to Skye on my holiday. I could be happy. All I really want is the excitement of first hearing The Byrds, the amazement of decades of Dylan's music, or the thrill of seeing a band like The Long Ryders live. That's not much to ask, is it?
