Born in Australia, before moving to the UK at 12, Jamie Doe began performing as The Magic Lantern while studying philosophy in Bristol alongside friends like This Is The Kit. Now based in London he has released three albums under the band name – the first with a full band, the second a solo outing and on To The Islands he’s backed by a new band of musicians. Holding hands mixes a folk feel with some jazzier inputs and in its intimacy and with a swooping, gliding, vocal sounds not a million miles away from Sam Lee.
