The Runaway Grooms are deep into a Southern Rock sound on their new album ‘This Road‘ from which today’s song ‘Jenny‘ is taken. The Colorado-based band consists of Cody Scott on swirling keyboards, Zac Cialek on lap steel, drummer Justin Bissett, Zach Gilliam on bass and Adam Tobin on guitar and vocals. They’ve honed their chops playing live and in the tradition of the great jam bands whilst they can draw on roots rock styles they also have a foot in a more jazz-rock camp, picking up on the stylings of the likes of Steely Dan.
‘This Road‘ is the third studio album for The Runaway Grooms, following 2020’s ‘Tied to the Sun‘ and 2021’s ‘Violet Lane.’ With a nod to their antecedents it was released on CD, Vinyl and yes compact cassette tape. Guys!
