We have a nice new video and performance for you today from Amanda Shires whose album ‘Take It Like A Man’ we reviewed earlier this week here at AUK and which lands next Friday. Her latest single ‘Empty Cups’, which features her Highwomen collaborator Maren Morris and husband Jason Isbell on guitar, is a sad tale of someone desperate for their partner’s affection as they reflect on their troubled relationship.
“I recorded ‘Empty Cups’ after everyone left because I didn’t want to accidentally cry or get a shaky voice in front of my friends,” Shires notes. “I asked Maren to sing on this one because our voices blend like sisters and because I knew that wherever my voice wavered, she’d be steady.”
