The artful video for What if You Loved Me places the three core instruments in a triangle, allowing Carly Pearce, Molly Tuttle, and Dan Tyminski to interact beautifully through their music. They share smiles as they watch one another perform, and their dialogue is through the interplay of Pearce’s acoustic guitar, Tuttle’s understated, clawhammer banjo and Tyminski’s delicate, fluttering mandolin. Their voices blend well, harmonies rising above their tuneful, elegant instrumentation. The central vocal performance is from Carly Pearce, whose singing is clean, clear and pure with refined country tones. Together, they have created timeless bluegrass that pays tribute to Pearce’s bluegrass and Appalachian roots.
Pearce says: “Bluegrass is such a cherished part of who I am as it’s where I got my start. To record a song that honours my roots with two artists that I have deep respect and admiration for is not only a special moment, but very emotional. 10-year-old Carly who grew up singing in bluegrass bands would be over the moon to know she has a song with Dan and Molly (as is present-day Carly!). This is the perfect moment in my career to show fans this side of my heart.”
What If You Loved Me will feature on Pearce’s forthcoming album, Honest Woman, due for release on 28th August 2026. This will be the fifth full-length collection from the GRAMMY, CMA and ACM Award-winning country star. The songs are intended to reflect an authentic, honest portrayal of life’s journey, delivered with an understanding that we are only defined in the fullness of time.
