Here’s another upbeat, uplifting song from Portland band Glitterfox. ‘Richie’s Party’ is a joyful song – both in sound and message – about finding the right people in your life who make you feel valued and accepted for who you are. Songwriter and guitarist Andrea Walker reflected on the experience of putting the band together and creating and performing with energetic frontperson Solange Igoa, who is an incredibly dynamic, charismatic presence for Glitterfox. Walker explains: “‘Richie’s Party’ is a song about finally feeling like one of the cool kids.”

Upbeat rhythms from drummer Blaine Heinonen and melodious bass from Eric Stalker underpin the sound of ‘Richie’s Party’, a song that once again takes the music and vibe of the 1980s as inspiration. Igoa’s gorgeous vocals follow a typically catchy tune over Elisabeth Ellison’s shimmering Juno synthesiser. Directed by Kaylee Kotkins, the accompanying video is full of quirky, surreal humour, a delight to watch.

This is the final single from brand-new album “Decoder”, which was released on 22nd August via Jealous Butcher Records. Produced by Chris Funk of The Decemberists, the album follows a series of acclaimed singles and EPs and is a delightful ray of sunshine at the end of summer. Enjoy.

All the plaudits are fully deserved. These guys are excellent with memorable pop, power pop melodies. Very much looking forward to hearing “Decoder.”
