Here is the latest single from UK singer-songwriter Kitty O’Neal, who has performed under the moniker ‘march’ since 2019, after many years gigging along the south coast. ’45 (I Think About This all the Time)’ is beautifully crafted and beautifully performed in this captivating live performance. Kitty says: “For a music video, I opted for a live session and squeezed 10 of my mates into my bedroom,” and it’s a simple but effective approach that celebrates their musical connections and emphasises Kitty’s lyrical songwriting. Kitty’s friends supply gorgeous layers of percussion, strings and backing vocals as the song builds subtly towards its conclusion. Frazer Pearce’s double bass adds great depth while Morgan Rickman’s slide guitar provides an atmospheric foundation for march’s engaging voice.
’45 (I Think About This all the Time)’ appears on the brand new EP ‘Cross St Demos’, which was entirely self-produced for the first time. The EP was written, recorded and produced in the North London bedroom that features in the video. Released in September, the single was included as a ‘Fresh Fave’ on Tom Robinson’s Fresh On The Net and received airplay on Soho Radio and BBC Introducing. The debut album from march, ‘All of the Above’, was released in 2021 to critical acclaim and she was named on Glastonbury Festival’s long-list of emerging talents in 2023. Check it out.
