Here’s the latest single from rising Irish country singer Gareth.  “Quiet in This House”, the follow-up to the well-received “Last Thing I Do”, is a showcase for Gareth’s striking voice.  His words, an intimate reflection on moving on and the people you leave behind, tumble out in a flowing melody that feels at once fresh and yet familiar.  Gareth’s honey-smooth voice rises above a subtle strum and rhythmic keys; it’s rich, tuneful and immediately engaging.  In the video, directed by Chase Foster, the warmth of the fire matches the feel of the understated instrumentation and Gareth’s bittersweet vocal performance.

The song is, of course, inspired by Gareth’s family, so it’s especially important to him that they have gone out to Nashville to join him for the first time.  He says of the song: “My family and I are very close to each other. We have grown up in the same house… mum, dad, granny, grandpa, and all my brothers and sisters. Every time I leave the house my mum always tells me it’s far too quiet. Moving to Nashville has been such a blessing but also very hard for me because I have to say goodbye to my family. I’ve never left home before and now I’ve moved to Nashville to chase a dream. This song is my way of sharing that story of moving to Nashville and all the emotions that come with it.”  Gareth has been getting used to his new surroundings quickly, having settled into an apartment and bought his first car out in the USA.  He says: “Learning how to drive on the other side of the road has been hard…but I haven’t crashed yet so I am doing something right.”  That’s an experience that he managed to weave into the words of “Quiet in This House”.

Born in Castlederg, Northern Ireland, and now based in Nashville, Gareth has just announced a publishing deal with BMG, a move that represents the next stage in his music career.  He shares: “I feel very fortunate to be in such great hands at BMG.  They see my vision as a songwriter and artist and I am ready to get to work!”  Gareth has come a long way since playing pubs around Northern Ireland for £50 a night.  In 2024, his cover of Noah Kahan’s “Stick Season” went viral, quickly gaining over 25 million views and 15 million streams.  His success with covers led to his debut EP of original songs, “Changing Seasons”, again capturing a loyal audience and achieving millions of streams and radio airplay.  Influenced by his Irish roots, look out for more catchy melodies and country storytelling from Gareth.  Enjoy.
